Hybrid Kia brand - for the green, less green
Kia is a car that aims to make affordable cars. Although difficult to offer the comfort of a Lexus, Kia brand automobiles to offer a vehicle that gets you where you have to go without spending a fortune. With a reputation like that, many people are no doubt wondering where the market is Kia hybrid electric vehicle? Many people have the desire to move to a hybrid car, but not the dollars to buy one with an award for large cars in existence. Currently, when Kia launches a hybrid model, which should be the least expensive on the market.
Unfortunately, for those who waited, there's no more waiting to come. While the hybrid model of Kia Rio was originally scheduled to be launched in late 2006, the delays in bringing the production model means that we're likely to see the Kia hybrid models until sometime in 2009.
Based on the current design produced in South Korea, the Kia Rio uses a "mild hybrid" model in which the electric motor provides a boost during acceleration and regenerative braking permits, but can not drive the car on their own. Coming up with a 84 hp, 1.4L engine, the Kia Rio is expected to get about 42 miles per gallon. The car will come with a 16 hp electric motor. The engine and the engine can be upgraded to 1.8L and 20hp respectively.
Although far from the mileage one could have dreamed, about 42mpg Kia Rio Hybrid will offer significant gas savings over the non-hybrid model .......
